Wholesale
Power Tracker
As of February 1, 2013, the Wholesale Power Tracker is $0.00 per kwh. This charge describes the fees that Hendricks Power incurs each month in purchasing wholesale power on your behalf. The charge fluctuates each quarter as fuel prices change. Power plants in the Midwest burn primarily coal as the fuel to generate electricity. When the market price changes for the coal they purchase, they pass that charge along to us. We then use the fuel charge to reflect your portion of the fuel expense we incur. By structuring the charge in this manner, we avoid having to incorporate these fluctuating expenses in the base electric rate. When fuel prices decline, this component of the bill can appear as a credit on your bill.
Determination of
billing demand
The billing demand shall be the maximum measured 60-minute demand in the current month adjusted for power factor. Custom determination of billing demand applies to Schedule LP and Schedule LP-1.
Power
factor
The member agrees to maintain unity power factor as nearly as practicable. The Corporation reserves the right to measure such power factor at any time. Should such measurements indicate that the average power factor is less than 90 percent, the billing demand shall be calculated in accordance with the following formula:
Billing Demand = Maximum Demand Times (90%) / Average Lagging Power Factor in %
Late payment
charge
Ten percent of the first $3.00 or less of net billing plus three percent of the net amount in excess of $3.00 if bill is not paid within 17 days from the due date as stated in the bill. *Excludes PP1 rate.
