Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition System

Hendricks Power Cooperative and its wholesale power supplier, Wabash Valley Power, are among only a handful of power systems across the nation that use the SCADA system, which gives us the ability to monitor electric load and control substation and distribution facilities. The system is monitored 24 hours a day, seven days a week at the Wabash Valley Power control center in Indianapolis. In addition, the system can monitor load at a customer facility in real time. This unique program can give customers the ability to plan energy usage on an hour-by-hour, day-by-day basis, so they are always aware of the cost of the energy they're using and can adjust their plans accordingly. Also, armed with usage data, Hendricks Power can help customers meet their energy needs cost effectively and ensure they have all the power they need, when they need it most.
