2008 Scholarship Recipients Selected!
Hendricks Power Cooperative is proud to award eight local students with scholarships, each in the amount of $500. The scholarships are to be used towards continuing education at the college or vocational school of his/her choice. These eight students have excelled acacemically and were selected by an outside panel of judges based on their application essays, SAT or ACT scores, cumulative grade point average, personal achievements and other criteria.
Hendricks Power hosted a dinner on May 6th to recognize these students, present them with certificates celebrating their scholastic achievements and become better acquainted with the students and families. Among those in attendance were (pictured from left to right): Robin Ruberson; Kylee Gephart; Jennifer Bozell; Benjamin Ulrich; Shannon Hayes; Kateri Fites; and Katelyn Hayes. Kelsey Erlenbaugh was also a recipient, but unable to attend due to a prior commitment.
"We really look forward to the dinner," said Dana Servaes, Director of Corporate Marketing for the cooperative. "It's inspiring to hear their ambitions and commitment to fulfulling those dreams."
We plan to continue this program in 2009. Watch for applications and guidelines to be posted on this page and distributed to local schools in December.
Hendricks Power Cooperative has been committed to the communities we serve for over 65 years. This commitment inspired our scholarship program, which assists local students in fulfilling their dreams for higher education. Hendricks Power Cooperative’s Scholarship Program was developed to encourage the sons and daughters of our Members to further their education and become more aware of careers in the rural electric industry.
